Infuze Interviews AP

Sean H wrote in to let us know that Infuze Magazine has interviewed our man Andrew Peterson. They discuss recording records with friends, who AP thinks his target demographic is, and some about his upcoming project:

You’ve mentioned on your website about wanting to pull together another studio record this year. Your last record, The Far Country, was obviously very thematic. Do you find you’re writing about something in particular at this point in your life?

I’ve been thinking about this quite a bit lately, because that thematic element to my last few records was helpful in the writing process. With Love and Thunder, the theme of suffering, the long, hard journey of faithfulness, and ultimately redemption in the depths of our pain — that theme kind of crept out during the making of the album. Not all the songs deal with those specific things, but the comments I get from people about that record seem to be peppered with references to those issues. It’s also very reflective of that time in my life.

As for subject matter, right now they’re a lot like the songs on my other albums: stories, scritpure, family, Christ. Hopefully they’re the kind of songs that will still matter to someone in fifteen years. I’m in this for the long haul.

We certainly hope so, AP.
