Though offbeat and quite funny, there is some really useful information on this topic provided too. I'm surprised that more of the Pegs aren't into this. It seems like a perfect win/win for supporters and the artist, particularly when a given artist is going to be in an area "anyway." Rather than hang out at a hotel or head home, the artist gets to earn some change and interact with supporters on perhaps a more intimate basis than might otherwise be possible in a more traditional show setting. We have a local venue located in a cool part of town that regularly brings in mainstream acoustic artists and it's been a hugely successful endeavor. I love house concerts.
