We here at SquarePegAlliance.net are proud to announce IndieRiver.net, our bootleg trading service!
IndieRiver doesn’t host files for download: it serves as a BitTorrent tracker. BitTorrent is a legal peer-to-peer filesharing technology; you may already use it. If not, Mark Smiley has written up a wonderful HOWTO on downloading and processing bootlegs with BitTorrent.
Right now, IndieRiver is limited to 100 users: I want to see what impact hosting this tracker is going to have on overall server performance. If it’s low, as I expect, we’ll raise that value significantly.
What does this mean for you? Well, for one, every SPA show I attend is something I’ll record. I’ll seed them all on IndieRiver. I’ve already got Andrew Osenga’s CD release show for The Morning online in case you weren’t able to attend that [although since Chris drove in from Iowa, I don't think you have any excuses. ;)] I’ll try to have MPJ’s set from that night up soon.
So … go on and sign up for IndieRiver and read up on how to use BitTorrent if you’re not hip to that already.
Share the love! Share the music! Buy Square Pegs CDs!

You’re welcome. It’s been a pain using this horribly documented software, but I’m muddling through it.
